Southampton Village is piloting an evening street closure - Southampton In The Streets - on Saturday 6/27 from 6:30-11:30PM on both Main Street and Jobs Lane to create a safe, welcoming, pedestrian-only option for people to stroll, shop and more outside dining - all in the heart of our beautiful Village.
Road closure will began at 5:30PM with parking access to the lot east of Lake Agawam (O’Connell Drive) and at West Main for the Municipal lot.
Many of our restaurants will have expanded outdoor seating and the popular DJ Tony Kerr will be set up on Main Street in front of Village Hall, providing family friendly ambient music.
Over on Jobs Lane the Southampton Arts Center will have live music on the steps with Jill Yoo and Katie Herbst of the Wednesdays from 6:30-98PM, plus the PLAIN-T tea cart. Stroll through the outdoor sculpture exhibit featuring the works of Eric Fischl, Saskia Friedrich, Alice Hope, Bryan Hunt, Laurie Lambrecht, and Steve Miller. Galleries and grounds will remain open until 9 PM.
As always, a reminder that masks must be worn in all stores and on our streets when social distancing cannot be maintained - if we pull together we can all stay safe and healthy!
*Based on the pilot results, more weekend street closures may be planned.
