Mayor Jesse Warren has issued Local Emergency Order (Coronavirus) 4(A) -2020 which includes the following points:

  • That all conditions and directives contained in Local Emergency Orders 1-2020, 2-2020 and 3-2020 are renewed, continued and extended in full force and effect.
  • All persons outside their homes are encouraged to wear a cloth facial covering consistent with the current CDC guidelines, including cloth masks. Persons choosing to use masks are encouraged to review and comply with the CDC and New York State Department of Health guidelines on personal protective equipment.  Persons should minimize use of N95 rated masks, as those are critical supplies for health care workers, police, fire, emergency management, or other persons engaged in life/safety activities, and the provisions of this order shall serve as minimum standards.
  • The time frames under Real Property Tax Law Sec. 718, and related procedural requirements relating to the challenge of Village assessments, are hereby extended for the 2016/17 tax year until 45 days from the recommencement of electronic filing availability by the Suffolk County Clerk
  • The filing of 2020/21 tax year petitions is hereby extended until further notice and, when filing is recommenced by the Suffolk County Clerk, the Village waives the personal service requirement and agrees to electronic filing via the designated Village email for service, and will not require individual copies of petitions for cases otherwise listed in a master petition.

Except as stated above, this Order shall be effective IMMEDIATELY and shall remain in effect until removed by further order of the Mayor.
Failure to obey this order is a criminal offense, punishable by law under New York State Executive Law §24(5).
