What's Happening in Southampton Village

FEMA Electrical Work:

Beginning Monday evening at 10 PM on OCTOBER 7, 2019, FEMA working with PSEG, will have contractors reconductoring electric lines on the South side of Hampton Road from Main Street to Little Plains Road in the Village of Southampton. This work will occur five nights a week from Monday to Friday from 10PM to 6AM. The project will last 3 to 4 weeks. During the overnight period no parking will be allowed on the South side of the street in this area. Two way traffic will be maintained but may be shifted to the North to allow for a safe work zone. Construction lighting will be used , as well. The scope of work will consist of framing and pulling in new conductors using existing poles and several new poles. During this time, electric services will be transferred for the businesses along both sides of Hampton Road from Main Street to Little Plains Road.

Suffolk County Water Authority Installing New Water Main on Great Plains Road:

Suffolk County Water Authority will be replacing the water main on Great Plains Rd - work is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, 10/ 23. Work will be ongoing; Suffolk County Water Authority will be placing "Road closed / Local Traffic Only signs. Residential service tie-ins will take place in Spring 2020 followed by a full pavement restoration. For additional information please call SCWA at 631-698-9500

Agawam Drain Pipe

Due to the recent storms and heavy rainfall, the Agawam Drain Pipe has been opened.

UPCOMING WORK:

National Grid Gas Main Replacement:

National Grid has provided a tentative date of November 4th, 2019 to begin gas main replacement for the following roads:
Elm Street from Powell Avenue to Pelletreau Street
Pelletreau Street from Elm Street to David Whites Lane
Pulaski Street from Elm Street to David Whites Lane
North Wooley Street from Pulaski Street to Pelletreau Street

National Grid is sending out notices to all customers in this area and will be walking door to door to inform occupants. The work will be ongoing throughout the winter and roadways will remain open to local traffic. The road will be repaved next year.
