What is USGBC, LEED, NAHB, and ICC 700?
  • International Codes Council (ICC-700) is a comparable process to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design to attain acceptable to outstanding levels in sustainable building through the use of a checklist with verification.
  • Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is the tool that United States Green Building Council has developed to outline the process and metrics for how green a structure might be. It outlines the methodology and measures performance in various areas of building, providing a plan from inception to completion.
  • National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) is the Building Trades organization. They have collaborated with American Society of Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) to develop a green building process.
  • United States Green Building Council (USGBC) is a Not-for Profit (501-C3) organization of scientists, engineers, architects and other personnel who seek to “green” the built environment.

From inception to completion, the core ideas of best sustainable building practices are integral to both these choices.
