Please be advised that as of March 16, 2020 all applications for Building Permits and required Board reviews must be submitted by MAIL.

All paperwork can be printed from the list below - including the building permit application. When you mail the application(s) you must then contact us by email notifying us as such.
Your application will be considered submitted when we receive your email.

The office of the Building Department is here to administer and enforce the Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Codes. 

The purpose of this Code is to establish minimum requirements to safeguard the public safety, health and general welfare through affordability, structural strength, means of egress, facilities, stability, sanitation, light and ventilation, energy conservation and safety to life and property from fire and other hazards attributed to the built environment and to provide safety to Firefighters and Emergency Responders during emergency operations. 

We also administer Floodplain regulations and Coastal Erosion Regulations.
We manage the Board of Architectural Review and Historic Preservation; the Planning Board, the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Planning Commission.
